- On April 5, clashes continue in Rubizhne and near Severodonetsk;
- On April 5, Russian forces captured Brazhkivka village south of Izyum;
- Ukrainian troops blew up a tank with hydrochloric acid in the workshop of the Zarya plant retreating on the outskirts of Rubizhne;
- On April 5, 267 Ukrainian servicemen of the 501 separate battalion of the Ukrainian Navy Marines surrendered in Mariupol. More than 30 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also surrendered in the area of kindergarten 91 on the Left Bank;
- The headquarters of the Territorial Defence of the DPR claimed that 139 cities and towns had been liberated in the DPR. Battles continue in Marinka, Novomikhailovka and Mariupol;
- On April 4, the People’s Militia of the LPR took control of the depot of the city of Popasnaya;
- The DPR army, with the support of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, took control over Novobakhmutovka and reached the Konstantinovka-Avdiivka road;
- The DPR troops reached the outskirts of New York;
- Battles continue to the north-west of Ugledar.
