This map shows the military situation in the area of the ISIS self-proclaimed capital in Syria, Raqqah, on February 16, 2017.
The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), predominantly Kurdish YPG units, have been developing advance in the eastern countryside of Raqqah. At the same time, ISIS retook some villages from SDF units north of the al-Tabqa Dam.
