• At least 8 people were killed in a Taliban attack in the Maroof district compound in Kandahar province. 4 Humvees with explosives were detonated by Taliban suicide bombers;
• Government forces carried out a wide-scale security operation in the districts of Chamtal, Chaharbolak, Sholgera and Chaharkent, Balkh province;
• The Taliban claimed that it had seized the Maruf district, Kandahar province.
