On the morning of December 23, Russian troops again launched a massive combined attack on targets in the rear regions of Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the Russian Armed Forces launched a group strike with high-precision weapons at facilities of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine producing missiles and their components, ammunition, as well as explosives. The targets of the strikes have been achieved, and all facilities have been hit, the Russian military concluded.
Once again, a series of explosions thundered in Kiev. Local residents filmed the successful strikes of Russian cruise missiles, according to preliminary data, into facilities in the right-bank part of the city.
The video refuted the statements of representatives of the Kiev regime about the “destruction of all Russian missiles” that attacked the country’s capital. According to a representative of the Kiev administration, there were about 20 missiles shot down in total.
According to Ukrainian monitoring sources, Kiev was hit by missiles, which first went towards the western regions, but then changed course and returned to the Ukrainian capital.
Explosions were in Brovary and Boryspil areas, but the exact targets have yet to be revealed.
Judging by the footage from the city, Russian troops used cruise missiles equipped with a jamming system to deceive air defense systems. As during the last massive strike on Ukraine on January 2, the X-101 cruise missiles shot off heat traps on approach to the target, reducing the chances of their destruction by infrared-guided missiles.
The Kiev authorities announced the evacuation of one of the five-storey buildings of the capital, as an unexploded missile warhead fell in the courtyard. It should not be ruled out that it was a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile that fell on the heads of civilians, since the AFU air defense forces are still deployed in urban areas.
More Ukrainian military facilities were destroyed in Kharkiv. At least five explosions thundered in the city.
Another location of foreign mercenaries was reportedly destroyed in the Saltovka district. In the Kievsky district of the city, a building used for military accommodation was also reportedly damaged. In Balakleya, a pioneer camp, where the military base of the nationalist Kraken battalion was located, came under attack. A military warehouse was destroyed in Chuguev.
The city received even greater destruction from the attacks of the Ukrainian air defense forces. In particular, Ukrainian missiles damaged residential buildings in the Kievsky district and on the southern outskirts of the city.
In addition, Russian strikes hit targets in Pavlograd in the Dnepropetrovsk region. The explosions thundered near the Mirgorod airfield, although no damage has yet been confirmed.
Today’s massive strikes on military-industrial facilities in Ukraine were largely launched in revenge for the ongoing attacks on civilians in Donetsk. LINK
