On January 20, 2024 on the Kherson direction in the area of Krynki settlement the situation remains tense without any advancement of the parties to the conflict.
The armed forces of the Russia continue to destroy the Ukrainian landing groups that had previously entrenched themselves in a small area near the village. Despite the complete encirclement, the AFU unit continues to remain at its positions in the village. According to various estimates, up to 100 people are stationed on the bridgehead occupied by the AFU. The area has already been virtually completely destroyed and there are no shelters left. Images taken by a Ukrainian serviceman from Krynki:
According to the anchorman, their shelter is destroyed, but there is nowhere to move to, as almost everything around them has been destroyed, and because of the night frost without proper shelters, they are freezing.
Most of the section of the left bank of the Dnieper occupied by the AFU is strewn with corpses. Wounded soldiers cannot be transported to the right bank of the Dnieper for treatment and therefore die. The AFU units already realize that no one will help them and they are doomed to die.
On the one hand, the breakthrough made by the AFU in Krynki was their greatest achievement and success within the framework of a possible large-scale forcing of the Dnieper. On the other hand, this step looked extremely illogical, given the lack of air superiority and the existing problems in the supply of offensive weapons from the West.
The situation in Krynki confirms once again that Kyiv is extremely negligent towards its soldiers, who are forced to hold their positions on many parts of the front and are subjected to large-scale shelling by the Russian Armed Forces, which are significantly outnumbered and equipped with weapons.
If at the initial stage the morale of Ukrainian soldiers contributed to the fulfillment of Kiev’s criminal and insane orders, at present the morale of the AFU allows the Russian army to achieve successes on those directions where previously there was not even a question. In this situation, it is likely that successes on the previously lost sections of the front for Russia will not be long in coming.
