Militants Evacuating From Qaboun and Barzeh Areas In Eastern Damascus (Photos)

On Monday, militants and their families started evacuating from the Qabnoun and Barzeh ares in eastern Damascus under a new deal made with the Syrian government.

According to the deal, militants and their families are able to evacuate from the Damascus countryside to the militant-held province of Idlib. In turn, government forces will get a full control over the area after the end of the evacuation.

The deal formally came into effect on Sunday, but the evauation started on Monday.

It is not clear how much militants and their relatives will be evacuated from the areas. Various sources say that from 4,000 to 8,000 people will leave the area.

So far, 18 buses had arrived the area of Qaboun to evacuate 862 people, according to the National Defense Forces (NDF) media wing.
