At midnight on New Year’s Eve, Ukrainian Nazis launched massive attack on the city of Donetsk. The Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled the center and different residential quarters of the city with multiple rocket launchers. Explosions thundered across the city. Rockets began to fall on the peaceful city immediately after the New Year came.
As a result of the cruel attack on the festive city, at least four civilians were killed at the very first minutes of 2024. At least 13 civilians were wounded as a result of the shelling.
According to the official report by the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, the center of Donetsk, Kalininsky and Budyonnovsky districts came under the massive shelling from multiple rocket launchers.
One of the targets was the Donbass Palace hotel, where people came to celebrate the New Year. Another target was the Lenin Square, the main square of the city. Fortunately, it was empty, since the local residents avoid any public places. At least of one the Ukrainian rockets hit the children’s entertainment center “Happy Bear” in the center of the city. Other targets included more public civilian facilities and houses.
In Donetsk, the following facilities came under fire:
- School No. 9 of Donetsk;
- Kindergargen No.327
- Business center “Pushkinsky”;
- Donbass Palace Hotel;
- children’s store on the ave. Ilyich;
- children’s sport school and numerous apartment buildings on the Artyom str., Gorky str., Chelyuskintsev str., ave. Ilyich, Pushkin blvd., Postysheva str., Independence street.
More private houses were damaged in Gorlovka.
These are only preliminary reports, more information about the damage is coming from the JCCC of the DPR.
On the morning of January 1, the shelling continued.
This is another terrorist attack by the Kiev regime. The Ukrainian military launched indiscriminate shelling on the peaceful city. The target of the attack was civilians. No military facilities were tergeted.
