The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are pressuring the remaining ISIS-held areas on the eastern and western banks of the Euphrates River.
- The SDF, supported by the US-led coalition, has advanced along the border with Iraq and reached the area north of the town of al-Bukamal. However, the town of Hajin still remains in the hands of ISIS.
- The SAA, backed up by Russia and Iran, has recaptured a large desert area from ISIS cells in the Homs-Deir Ezzor desert southwest of the town of al-Mayadeen.
