At least 120 Israeli troops were killed or wounded as a result of Hezbollah recent attacks from southern Lebanon, according to an infographic released by the group’s Military Media on October 31.
The infographic reveals that Hezbollah fighters carried out at least 105 attacks against sites of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) between October 8 and 31. During the attacks, the fighters destroyed nine Merkava main battle tanks, two Humvee armored vehicles, two armored personnel carriers as well as dozens of surveillance cameras, radars, communication devices, electronic warfare systems and other military equipment.
An Israeli military drone that was allegedly shot down on October 29 by Hezbollah air defenses was listed in the infographic.
The Military Media also included in the infographic the displacement of 65,000 Israelis from 28 settlements near Lebanon as one of Hezbollah’s achievements in the ongoing clashes.
In addition, the Military Media released two videos on October 30 and 31 showing recent attacks by Hezbollah on several IDF sites.
Hezbollah and its allies, including Palestinian armed factions, have had near-daily exchanges of fire with the IDF along the Israeli-Lebanese border, since the October 7 Hamas-led surprise attack from the Gaza Strip.
So far, the clashes on the Lebanon front have claimed the lives of eight Israelis -six soldiers and two civilians- 45 fighters of Hezbollah, two fighters from the Lebanese Resistance Brigades, seven Palestinian fighters -three from the Hamas Movement and four from the Islamic Jihad- and four Lebanese civilians -two elderly men and two journalists-.
More escalation on the Lebanon front is expected in coming days. Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, is set to give what was described as a very important speech on November 3. Some Observers speculate that he will announce an escalation in attacks against Israel in support of Gaza during the speech, or even declare an all out war.
