Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov compared the US actions in Syria last night with the military invasion in Iraq in 2003.
The foreign minister epmhasized that the United States’ missile strikes on the Syrian airfield near Homs is reminiscent of the US-led military intervention in Iraq 14 years ago
“It is reminiscent of the situation in 2003, when the US, the United kingdom with its few allies invaded Iraq without Security Council approval, in gross violation of international law,” Lavrov said according to RIA News.
He added that the attack was an “act of aggression under an absolutely false pretext.”
