The leading Spanish agency EFE has confirmed that the defector pilot Maxim Kuzminov was indeed killed in Spain. Citing some sources close to the investigation, despite the fact that the documents of the deceased belonged to a certain 33-year-old Ukrainian, the deceased was still the same Kuzminov. It seems that he lived in Spain using fake documents that were made for him in Ukraine.
The defector reportedly lived in Spain according to forged documents made by the special services of Ukraine. Kuzminov was reportedly killed by 6 (or 12) bullets, and then the car in which the shooters were drove over his body.
Spanish law enforcement agencies are yet to officially confirm reports about the identity of the deceased.
The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) previously confirmed that death of Kuzminov; but now, Ukrainian authorities continue commenting on the situation, calling to wait for the official statements from Spain. Spanish authorities reportedly claimed that it will be Kiev, sho will reveal the results of the investigation.
There is still a lot of doubts about the reported assassination of Kuzminov. Rather he was killed or Kiev continues the media campaign aimed to hide the defector, who was promised to be paid 500 thousand euros for stilling Russian helicopter and killing the crew. However, the fact that the man moved to Spain with fake documents is unlikely to please Madrid and the Spanish public. The week-long silence after the assassination is now clear.
Did Madrid know that the man lives there with a fake passport? Then, what law regulates entry and residence with forged documents in EU countries? Do Spanish citizens agree with the risk their lives are at when their authorities hide Ukrainian criminals as their neighbors?
