On Friday, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry deined that the country is holding talks about sending troops to Syria.
“Kazakhstan is not negotiating with anyone about sending its servicemen to Syria,” the ministry statement said.
The statement followed reports appeared in the Russian media that Moscow has been negotiating with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan suggesting them to deploy some forces into the recently established de-escalation zones.
The Kazakh ministry addded that Astana is helping reach a settlement to the Syrian crisis by providing the Astana platform for the involved sides.
The fifth round of talks to resolve the situation in Syria will take place in Astana on July 4-5.
