The Israeli military revealed on August 29 what it claimed to be accurate information about the supposed precision-guided missile program of Lebanon’s Hezbollah and the individuals overseeing it.
In a video, the army claimed that Iran has been trying to transfer precision-guided missiles to Hezbollah, since 2013. Tehran supposedly attempted to ship fully built missiles to the Lebanese group through Syria. However, Israeli airstrikes prevented this.

The Israeli military said that Iran has shifted its plan into establishing factories for precision-guided missiles inside Lebanon itself, using Beirut International Airport, Beirut Port and Masnaa Border Crossing as routes to smuggle needed materials into the country.
The Israeli military went on to reveal the identity of three Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) personnel, who are reportedly helping Hezbollah to establish missile factories in Lebanon. The personnel are Brig. Gen. Muhammad Hussein-Zada Hejazi, Col. Majid Nauab and Brig. Gen. Ali Asrar Nuruzi.
On the Lebanese side, the Israeli military named an unknown commander called Fuad Shukr as the administrator of Hezbollah’s precision-guided missile project.

In his first comment on the information revealed by the Israeli military, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Tel Aviv is “determined to foil this dangerous project.”
“The aim of today’s publication is to show that we will not stand idly by as our enemies equip themselves with deadly weapons,” the Israeli PM added, according to Haaretz.
These accusations come amid a stand-off between Hezbollah and the Israeli military, which killed two fighters of the Lebanese group and struck one of its media centers last week.
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah vowed to respond to the Israeli attacks, calling on Israeli soldiers on the northern front to wait for it at any given moment.
