The Israeli military captured the Palestinian Rafah checkpoint on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli flag was raised at the checkpoint. According to Israeli sources, up to 20 Hamas fighters were killed and over 50 Hamas facilities were destroyed by Israeli airstrikes. As a result of the capture of the checkpoint, the crossing with Egypt is now cut off from the Salah al-Din road in eastern Rafah, which was captured at night by the 84th Givati Infantry Brigade of the IDF.
The Rafah checkpoint has not been controlled by Israel since 2005. Currently, traffic and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through through it in the south of the Gaza Strip have been stopped.
In the footage, Israeli armored vehicles can be seen entering the territory of the checkpoint. In addition, the drone shows that the checkpoint is completely occupied by armored units of the Israeli army.
