Saudi Arabia and Israel have made a secret $250-million deal that includes the transfer of Israeli espionage technologies to the kingdom, the UAE news website Al-Khaleej reported on October 28.
According to the report, some of the spy systems were already transferred to Saudi Arabia and put into use after a Saudi technical team had received training in operating them. The report stated that the delivered systems are the most sophisticated equipment, which Israel has ever sold to any Arab state.
The news website added that Saudi Arabia and Israel are exchanging strategic military information during its meetings, which are being conducted in Washington and London through a European mediator.
In September, Al-Khaleej reported that Saudi Arabia had purchased Iron Dome missile defense systems from Israel in order to defend itself from missile attacks carried out by Yemen’s Ansar Allah movment (also known as the Houthis).
While Israel and Saudi Arabia have no official ties, the both states are among the key US allies in the Middle East and share the hard-core anti-Iranian stance of the current US administration.
