On July 29, four convoys moving logistic supplies and equipment for the US-led coalition came under attack in different parts of Iraq.
The first convoy was targeted in the southern province of Dhi Qar, the second and third in the southern province of al-Diwaniyah and the last one in the central province of Babylon. All four convoys were targeted with explosive devices only a few minutes apart.
A pro-Iranian group known as Saryat Qasim al-Jabbarin [The Breaker of Titans Company] claimed responsibility for all four attacks.
The newly-founded group released a video and photos of Dhi Qar attack, which took place on a road near the city of Nasiriyah.
The US-led coalition supply convoys were targeted a few hours after a rocket attack that targeted the US Embassy in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, so far.
The US attempts to rebrand its military presence in Iraq as a “training mission” didn’t fool pro-Iranian forces. Attacks on US troops and diplomatic mission in Iraq will clearly continue.
