On Wednesday, they Iraqi Army and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) captured al-Tanak district in the eastern part of Tal Afar town in northern Iraq. Pro-government forces also captured al-Kifah al-Shamali, al-Kifah al-Janoubi and the first and second Asheq districts in the western part of Tal Afar.

Moreover, Iraqi forces captured Weran village northwest of Tal Afar as welll as Shikh Ibrahim, Ayn al-Wah, Hmarat al-Arab villages west of al-Muhalbiah village east of Tal Afar.
The army and the PMU killed 61 ISIS fighters during its advance, and destroyed 5 VBIEDs. Furthermore, they discovered an ISIS tank workshop in al-Kifah al-Shamali district in Tal Afar town.
Meanwhile, Iraqi military engineers removed 52 IEDs planted by ISIS fighters, and defused 7 booby-trapped houses in Tal Afar town.
The ISIS-linked news agency, Amaq released photos of an ISIS armed drone targeting a gathering of PMU fighters in al-Noor district in Tal Afar town.
An ISIS VBIED also targeted a gathering of PMU fighters in al-Butisha village east of Tal Afar.
A report of the PMU intelligence said that ISIS ordered its remaining fighters in Tal Afar area to burn their headquarters and positions, and then withdrew to the urban area.
