A general of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Dariush Dorosti, was reported killed in clashes with militants in the northern part of the Syrian province of Hama on September 2. According to reports, the general died during the confrontation with the Jaysh al-Tahrir militant group.
There are no details about presence of IRGC units in the area.
