The Russian Armed Forces continue to fight stubbornly in the area of Popasna, with no significant advances. At the same time, Ukrainian servicemen are surrendering on a daily basis. Their stories best illustrate the real situation in this section of the front.
Significant AFU forces are concentrated near Popasna and occupy heavily fortified positions.
The fighting is taking place both in the vicinity of the settlement and inside the residential areas. On the night of 20-21 April, AFU units attempted a counterattack, which was thwarted by massive Russian artillery fire.
Small arms battles are being fought inside the city’s built-up area.
Heavy casualties were reported on both sides of the conflict.
