The Armed Forces of Ukraine are shelling civilian areas in the Donbass on a daily basis. On November 19, they launched attack on the village of Kumachovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
The target of the attack were the local public facilities and civilian houses, including a local school, administrative building and a House of Culture, where a concert for Russian servicemen took place. The concert was dedicated to the Russian national Day of Rocket Troops and Artillery.
According to the DPR Representative Office in the JCCC, the AFU launched strikes from their positions located in the village of Elizavetovka. This is the area of responsibility of the 27th Separate Rocket Artillery Brigade of the AFU under the command of Colonel Dmitry Alexandrovich Khrapach.
The village was fired at with the MLRS M142 HIMARS, M-30A1 (shrapnel) and M-31 (fragmentation) missiles.
According to the local authorities, at least 5 HIMARS missiles hit the school and the House of Culture. Russian servicemen reported that the missiles destroyed the dressing room, the stage and in the volunteers’ car. Ukrainian forces also launched more strikes on people who came to clear the rubble and provide first aid to the wounded.
The building of the House of Culture was located only 60 km from the front line.
The actress who performed on the scene died as a result of the attack. She was the only one to be killed in the group of artists who came to Donbass to support Russian servicemen. Polina Menshih was well-known Russian actress, choreographer and theater director.
Russian sources also reported casualties among the Russian military, but did not disclose their number.
The warring sides show horrific negligence, gathering a large number of people in frontline areas, which leads to bloody strikes and heavy senseless losses. Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost dozens of servicemen, including officers, as a result of Russian strikes in the Zaporozhye region. One of the attacks hit the festive award ceremony of the Ukrainian military in a village located near the frontlines. LINK, LINK
