On April 2, Ukrainian military sources published video of the demolition of a bridge by Ukrainian forces in an attempt to slow down Russian advance.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) blew up the bridge located to the west of the town of Krasnoe, which recently came under the Russian control, in the Artyomovsk direction. Ukrainian forces attempted to destroy the bridge using the Ratel S ground-based kamikaze drones.
The Ukrainian army received kamikaze ground drones called Ratel S in October 2023, after the drones completed testing and their mass production began.According to Ukrainian reports, the drone is capable of operating for up to 2 hours without recharging at a range of up to 6 km, developing speed of up to 24 km / h without payload. The speed is much lower on rough terrain.
The AFU mainly use Ratel S for mining. These drones are reportedly capable of blowing up armored vehicles or enemy fortifications.
Both Russian anf Ukrainian forces are deploying different ground drones more and more often. Such platforms are aimed to save lives of servicemen during reconnaissance operations, mine clearance and mining, evacuation, delivery of goods to the battlefields and other operations.
