On October 8, the Russian Ministry of Defence shared footage of one of the most effective strikes of Russian forces in the Ukrainian rear areas. The video confirmed the destruction of the entire battalion of the S-300 air defense systems by Russian missile west of the city of Mykolaiv.

The footage shows that as a result of the single strike:
- 1 – The missile struck the area near two launchers;
- 2 – Two launchers got fire;
- 3 – Two launchers, one of them got fire;
- 4 – Two launchers were damaged but did not get fire;
- 5 – Radar illumination on the tower was likely damaged;
- 6 – This is likely the control point which was also likely damaged.
