On March 17, footage showing a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter hunting down a group of ISIS terrorists in Syria’s central region surfaced online.

The helicopter targeted two pickup trucks and a group of terrorists hiding in an abandoned small village with guided anti-tank missiles and unguided rockets. The precision strikes eliminated the entire group.

The footage was reportedly taken in al-Badia, a term that’s usually used to refer to the eastern Homs desert. However, it is unclear when the strikes took place.

ISIS cells have been very active in central Syria, especially in the eastern countryside of Homs. According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the terrorists have killed 24 pro-government fighters in the region since the beginning of March.

The terrorists’ most recent attack in the eastern Homs countryside claimed the lives of five fighters from the al-Quds Brigade, a Palestinian pro-government group.

Russian and Syrian fighter jets and attack helicopters target ISIS cells in the central region on a regular basis. The most recent wave of airstrikes targeted hideouts of the terrorists in the Hama-Aleppo-Raqqa triangle.

The recent operations in central Syria inflicted some serious losses on ISIS cells there. However, the terrorist group’s insurgency in the region will not likely end anytime soon.
