On the morning of June 18th, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched another precision strike on Ukrainian hideout in the war-torn Sumy region. An Iskander-M missile struck a hidden point of deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the industrial zone of the town of Konotop.

According to military monitoring sources the attack was launched at about 8 a.m. local time. Surveillance footage from a Russian reconnaissance drone, which coordinated the attack, confirmed the presence of Ukrainian military personnel in the area before the strike. The video shows mobile drone control units, equipment storage facilities, and military hardware, all positioned within the industrial complex. The main target was a hidden command post used for coordinating drone operations, including strikes on Russian rear areas.

The town of Konotop, located less than 100 kilometers from Russia’s Kursk region, has been a frequent target of Russian drone and missile attacks due to its proximity to the front lines. Konotop and other frontline towns, particularly their industrial zones, are under relentless surveillance, with Russian drones monitoring Ukrainian troop movements in the tactical rear. However, the footage clearly shows not only accuracy of Russian strikes but also their effectiveness and timing. Even in the frontline settlements, Russian attacks are launched after presence of the Ukrainian military is confirmed. Russian forces avoid indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas, instead focusing on confirmed military targets. This contrasts with Ukrainian allegations of deliberate attacks on non-combatants.

Meanwhile, the Kyiv regime is still slow to evacuate civilians from high-risk zones, effectively using them as human shields, a tactic Zelensky has been overtly endorsing since the early days of the Donbass conflict.
