The Russian military has been using multirotor drones to hunt down Ukrainian military boats operating in the Dnieper River.
Video footage posted to social networks on July 30 shows three Ukrainian speed boat with troops onboard being hit by FPV suicide drone. Another boat, that appears to be unmanned, is seen in footage being targeted with a grenade-dropping drone.
Kiev forces continue to use boats to move reconnaissance and sabotage groups across the Dnieper, as well as to transport supplies.
However, most of these high-risk operations take place at night. Thus, the drones the Russian military is using to hunt down Ukrainian military boats are all equipped with thermal imagers.
The Russian military expanded the use of all types of multirotor drones, from suicide drones to interceptors and grenade-dropping drones, in recent months, and is reported to be deploying upwards of 1,000 ones against Kiev forces on a daily basis.
In addition, the military has been testing many new concepts, like FPV drones armed with rocket-propelled grenade launchers or machine guns.
