In Video: Russian Boats, Helicopters Take Out Ukrainian Naval Drones In Black Sea

File image.

On May 17, the Russian Ministry of Defense released video footage showing the destruction of several Ukrainian seaborne suicide drones in the Black Sea.

The ministry said that the drones were intercepted by patrol boats and helicopters from the Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet. The footage released by the ministry showed at least five drones being destroyed by heavy machine gun fire.

15 Ukrainian seaborne suicide drones were destroyed while heading to the Crimean Peninsula on May 16, and at least six others met the same fate the following day.

The second wave coincided with a large-scale Ukrainian attack with more than 100 aerial suicide drones that targeted infrastructure in Crimea and the regions of Krasnodar, Belgorod and Kursk. In addition, earlier in the week Kiev forces launched two strikes with tactical ballistic missiles against Belbek Air Base in the Peninsula.

By intensifying attacks on Crimea and other regions, the Kiev regime is clearly attempting to make for the recent defeats of its forces.

The latest blow to Ukraine was the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region, where Kiev forces lost control of some 12 settlements.

The recent Ukrainian attacks will not likely go without a response by the Russian military, who could launch another series of missiles and drone strikes against military and energy infrastructure in the country very soon.
