According to preliminary reports, Hamas released a woman with two children from hostages. If confirmed, these are the first civilians released from Palestinian captivity after five days of hostilities.
Footage reportedly confirming their release was shared online:
A woman and two small children a seen accompanied by armed military towards the border. They crossed the cordon, where they were met by soldiers of the Israeli army.
Following from the statements published earlier by Palestine, more than 100 Israeli prisoners are being held in Gaza. They include citizens of various countries. On October 12, the Israeli Army and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a list of victims taken hostage and missing citizens of other countries in Israel. The numbers continue growing.
Hamas had previously warned that its militants would kill hostages in response to Israeli strikes on civilians in Gaza. However, no murders have been confirmed so far.
