On June 21, Russian units advanced south of Lysichansk and took control of the towns of Ustinovka, Mirnaya Dolina and the village of Podlesnoe.
After the AFU withdrew from their military positions in Mirnaya Dolina, they left evidence of their inhumane activities in the town. The video from the area showed bodies of their dead comrades burned in fires.
