On November 14, the Saudi-UAE-led coalition temporarily halted its advance on the Houthi-held port city of al-Hudaydah in western Yemen. The advance was launched in early November in a fresh attempt to capture this strategic logistical hub from the Houthis. Initially, coalition forces achieved some progress in their operation, but then faced a strong resistance from the local forces and were not able to develop the momentum. Over 1,300 members of coalition-led forces had been reportedly killed by the Houthis since November 1.
Currently, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and their proxies are resupplying their assault force and preparing for another attempt to capture the city, according to local sources.
