On September 9, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that Iranian-backed forces had attempted to shell Israeli territory from Syria’s Damascus with rockets.
The attack was allegedly coordinated by the Qods Force of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
A number of rockets were fired from #Syria toward #Israel overnight, all failing to hit Israeli territory.
The rockets were launched by Shiite militias operating under the command of the Iranian Quds Force.

The IDF statement is most likely another attempt to justify the Israeli agressive policy towards Syria in the region. A new round of Isaeli strikes on Syria could be expected soon.
