The so-called “al-Fatah al-Mubin” operations room announced on October 30 that it had launched a large-scale military operation against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in southern Idlib.

The operations room was established earlier this year by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) and several foreign Jihadi groups, including the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) and Ajnad al-Kavkaz (AK).

According to pro-government sources, the attack is targeting the towns of Ejaz and Sarjah in the southeastern Idlib countryside.

So far, the militants have not captured any position from the SAA. However, heavy clashes are taking place in the region with Russian and Syrian warplanes targeting militants there.

A day earlier, the SAA repelled an attack by HTS on its positions around Ejaz, after destroying two battle tanks and several vehicles of the terrorist group. The attack was apparently the first phase of the militants’ new operation.
