On August 17, Houthi fighters repelled an attack of the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies on their positions along the coast of the district of Midi in the northwestern province of Hajjah, according to the Yemeni al-Masirah TV.
A military source told al-Masirah that Houthi fighters killed dozens of Saudi-backed Yemeni during the clashes in Midi’s coast. Furthermore, the Houthis destroyed six vehicles of the Saudi-led coalition.
Midi is located more than 140km north of the city of al-Hudaydah, the key target of the Saudi-led coalition. Earlier this week, the coalition launched a large attack on the district center of al-Durayhimi, few kilometers south of the city. However, the Houthis repelled the attack within 72 hours.
The new attack on Midi was likely an attempt of the Saudi-led coalition to increase its pressure on the remaining positions of the Houthis along the western coast of Yemen.
