On October 4, the Houthis repelled a new attack of the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies on their positions west of the district center of al-Tuhayat on the western Yemeni coast, according to the Yemeni al-Masirah TV.
The Houthis’ media wing released a video of the clashes showing Houthi fighters killing several Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters and destroying a bulldozer and two pickup trucks armored with heavy machine guns.
Last month, the Houthis repelled a similar attack of the Saudi-led coalition on their positions in the vicinity of coalition-held al-Tuhayat. The district center was captured by coalition forces on July 6 after weeks of clashes. However, the Houthis maintained a strong presence around it.
The Saudi-led coalition is likely attempting to expand its control along the western coast of Yemen in order to secure its supply routes before launching a new offensive on the city of al-Hudaydah and its strategic port.
