Houthi fighters launched a large-scale attack in the southern Saudi province of ‘Asir in late November and captured several key positions in the area of Dmnan, the media wing of the Yemeni group revealed on December 5.

“Enemy’s warplanes and Apaches [attack helicopter] attempted to support the mercenaries on the ground with an intense cover, however the attempt failed,” the Masirah TV said in a report about the attack.

The Houthis media wing released a 21-minute video of the attack, which show how Houthi fighters were storming several positions of the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies in Dmnan and capturing loads of ammunition. Several dead bodies of Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters can be seen in the video.

The attack was reportedly launched from the northern Yemeni province of Saada, south of ‘Asir. This proves that the Saudi-led coalition has failed to advance in the key province, which is considered the heartland of the Houthis.

By releasing this video now, the Houthis are clearly trying to increase the existing media and diplomatic pressure on Saudi Arabia and its allies amid the ongoing peace talks in Sweden.
