On June 4, Yemeni Houthis announced an attack on an Israeli military facility in the city of Eilat, located in southern Israel. According to the spokesman of Ansar Allah, this was the first attack launched with a new Houthi Palestine ballistic missile.
The Houthis claimed that the missile “successfully reached its target.”
On the morning of June 3, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed the attack and reported the interception of a surface—to-surface missile that was flying from the Red Sea to Eilat. According to the military, no one was wounded as a result of the attack.
Eilat is one of the southernmost cities in Israel, it is located on the shores of the Red Sea near the borders with Jordan and Egypt. Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis have repeatedly reported attacks on Israel with ballistic missiles and drones.
