On August 25, Houthi fighters attacked a Saudi border post in al-A’aleb area in Asir according to the Houthi media wing. Houthi fighters also attacked another Saudi border post in Nahuqah in Najran.
According to the Yemeni Al-Masirah news TV channel, dozens of Saudi soldiers were killed or injured in the attacks. The Houthis artillery also shelled several Saudi positions in Najran area near the Saudi-Yemeni border.
On August 26, Saudi coalition warplanes carried out 4 airstrikes on al-Matamah area in Al Jawf region. Moreover, 3 civilians were injured in another Saudi airstrike on al-Muhajar area in Saada Governorate.
In another development, a new group of Sudanese soldiers was deployed to Yemen. According to local sources, the soldiers arrived via Adan airport and were transported from there to the Sudanese Army camp in Khur Mkasar area.
Sudan is the third major force in the Saudi coalition after Saudi itself and the UAE. However, the Sudanese soldiers are usually deployed in the most dangerous areas like Midi desert in Sana’a.
