On February 16, Hezbollah launched more attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as the group’s leader vowed to respond to recent deadly strikes on southern Lebanon.

In three separate statements, Hezbollah said that its fighters had fired a Bukran heavy rocket at the al-Malika site and shelled the sites of Ruwaisat al-Alam and Zabdin with salvos of rockets. The group announced in two other statements that it had targeted gatherings of Israeli troops at the Ramya site and Dovev barracks with “suitable weapons”.

The attacks were carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted its statements.

Separately, the group’s Military Media released video footage of a recent attack with anti-tank guided missiles that targeted the Israeli naval site of Ras al-Naqoura.

The latest attacks by Hezbollah came as the group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah vowed to escalate attacks on the IDF in response to the deaths of 11 Lebanese civilians killed in Israeli attacks earlier this week, saying Israel would pay a price “in blood.”

“The response to the massacre should be continuing resistance work at the front and escalating resistance work at the front,” Nasrallah said in a televised speech.

“Our women and our children who were killed in these days, the enemy will pay the price of spilling their blood in blood,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Hezbollah announced that three of its members were killed, while the allied Amal Movement said that three of its members died in an Israeli strike.

Hezbollah and its allies have been launching attacks from southern Lebanon against the IDF since the outbreak of the war in Gaza.

So far, the clashes on the border have resulted in six civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least ten IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 300 people have been killed, including 191 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 40 civilians.
