On April 3, Hezbollah attacked four sites and gatherings of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) along the border with Lebanon.

In two separate statements, Hezbollah said that its fighters fired rockets at the al-Rahib site and a nearby gathering of Israeli troops as well as a newly-established company command center behind the Pranit barracks. In two other statements, the group announced an attack with a “suitable weapon” against a troop gathering in the Khallet Warda site and said that the site of Ruwaisat Al-Ilm was shelled with artillery.

The attacks were carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted in all four statements.

Hebrew media didn’t report casualties as a result of Hezbollah’s attacks. Still, the IDF retaliated by launching strikes against southern Lebanon.

The strikes targeted Hezbollah positions and infrastructure in the town of Kfar Hamam, the IDF said in a statement, adding that it also hit buildings used by the group in the towns of Blida and Aynata last night, and shelled areas near Ayta al-Shaab in the early morning to “remove threats.”

While there were no reports of civilian casualties, Hezbollah mourned one of its fighters. In a statement, the group said that he was killed “on the road to Jerusalem,” a phrase used to refer to the fighters who lost their lives during the ongoing confrontation with the IF.

The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.

So far, the border clashes have resulted in eight civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least ten IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 300 people have been killed, including 249 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 60 civilians.
