On December 3, at least 12 Israelis were wounded after an anti-tank guided missile fired by Hezbollah destroyed an M113 armored personnel carrier of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the Beit Hillel military site near the border with Lebanon.

The Ziv Medical Center in Safed said that 11 men and one woman, between the ages of 20 and 65, were being treated for light wounds. Earlier, the IDF said only four soldiers were among those wounded in the missile strike.

This was not Hezbollah’s only attack during the day. The military sites of Zabdin, al-Radar, Ruwaisat al-Alam, al-Rahib and Ramia were shelled.

In addition, Hezbollah said that its fighters targeted a gathering of Israeli troops to the east of the Hanita military site on the border with “suitable weapons”.

Hezbollah said that the attacks were carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance.”

In response to the attacks, the IDF carried out a series of air and artillery strikes against alleged targets of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, including the cell responsible for the attack on Beit Hillel. Damage to civilian property was reported after the strikes. However, there were no casualties.

Hezbollah renewed attacks against the IDF from southern Lebanon on December 1, after the end of a week-long ceasefire in Gaza. The group paused attacks during the ceasefire to facilitate peace efforts.

As of December 3, the clashes on the Lebanese front have claimed the lives of six IDF troops, three Israeli civilians, 87 fighters of Hezbollah, two fighters from the Lebanese Resistance Brigades, one fighter from the Lebanese Resistance Regiments, seven fighters from the Hamas Movement, four fighters from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and 13 Lebanese civilians.
