On November 10, Hezbollah announced that it had carried out a strike with three suicide drones against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the second such attack since clashes broke out on the Lebanese front after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip.

One of the drones targeted the Israeli Yiftah Qadesh barracks, while the other two struck an IDF gathering to the east of the Hatzodet Yeshua settlement.

The attack was carried out “in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah said in a statement.

The IDF confirmed that three drones were launched from southern Lebanon and claimed that one of them was shot down by its air defenses. However, video footage released by Hezbollah’s Military Media showed all three suicide drones, which were similar in design to the Iranian Ababil-2, impacting their targets.

Later, the IDF admitted that a soldier was seriously wounded and a second was moderately hurt as a result of Hezbollah’s drone attack.

Three other soldiers were seriously wounded and one was slightly injured in two other anti-tank guided missile attacks by Hezbollah, according to the IDF.

In response to the attacks, the IDF said that it had struck a number of Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including a weapons depot and “intelligence infrastructure” from which the group directed attacks against Israel.

This was Hezbollah’s second drone attack against the IDF since the clashes on the Lebanon front broke out. The first attack, which took place on November 2 was also successful. Two Israeli soldiers were wounded back then.

Overall, it appears that Hezbollah is about to escalate its attacks against the IDF to mount more pressure on the Israeli leadership over its ongoing ground operation in Gaza. The group’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah could reveal some upcoming steps on the Lebanese front during a speech set for November 11.
