On May 4, Hezbollah carried out attacks against three sites of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) located right on the border of Lebanon.

In separate statements, the group said its fighters shellted Israeli troops moving in the Bayad Blida site with artillery, targeted surveillance equipment of the IDF in the al-Rahib site with “suitable weapons” and fired rockets at the al-Radar site.

The attacks were carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted in its statements.

There were no reports of any casualties after the attacks. Still, the IDF responded by carrying out a series of strikes against southern Lebanon.

Lebanese media said that Israeli artillery shelled the towns of Ramyeh, Aalma al-Shaeb and Naqoura. IDF tanks also opened fire at Ayta al-Shaab and Kfarkela. In addition, several airstrikes hit the town of Tayr Harfa and a drone strike targeted the road between the towns of Kounine Bint Jbeil.

Hezbollah didn’t announce any losses after the Israeli strikes and there were no reports of civilian casualties in Lebanese media.

The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.

So far, the clashes have resulted in nine civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 11 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 400 people have been killed, including 272 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 70 civilians.
