Hezbollah launched a series of rocket and drone attacks on November 2, targeting key military sites in northern and central Israel.
In separate statements, the group said that it attacked the Glilot base of Military Intelligence Unit 8200 north of the city of Tel Aviv, the Palmachim Air Force Base, which contains a military research center and radar for the Arrow missile defense system, south of Tel Aviv, the Zevulon military industries zone north of the city of Haifa, Ramat David Air Base, Shraga Base north of the city of Acre, the Regional Logistics Regiment at Misgav Base northeast of Haifa and the ELTA Systems military company, also northeast of Haifa.
The attacks also targeted settlements of Sha’al, Dalton, Yesod HaMa’ala, Bar Yochai, and Beria, in addition to the city of Safed and the Krayot area north of Haifa.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported the launch of more than 30 rockets and multiple suicide drones from Lebanon into Israel.
Hebrew media reported that a rocket struck a residential building in the town of Tira, wounding 11 people, including three moderately. A drone also hit a factory building in an industrial zone near the town of Nahariya, causing damage, according to media reports.
The IDF later announced that it struck some of the rocket launchers Hezbollah used in its recent attacks on Israel. The military released video footage of the strikes.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, with Hezbollah launching attacks in support of the Palestinian enclave. Israel escalated its attacks on Lebanon starting from September 17 and on September 27 it assassinated the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nassrallah.
The IDF officially announced the launch of a limited ground operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on September 30.
The confrontation has so far resulted in 39 civilian deaths in Israel and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights as well as the deaths of at least 61 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, more than 2,800 people have been killed, including more than 500 members of Hezbollah.
