The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Movement, released on July 22 and 23 several videos documenting recent attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip.
In the first video, Hamas fighters damage or destroy a number of Israeli D9 armored bulldozers, Namer armored personnel carriers and Merkava M4 main battle tanks using rocket-propelled grenades in the southern Gaza area of Rafah.
The second video shows a fighter of the group firing a man-portable air defense system at an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter over the central part of the Strip, while the third one shows rocket and mortar attacks against IDF gatherings in the occupied Natsarim Corridor in the same area.
The last video released by the group shows two ambushes with explosive devices that targeted Israeli troops in Rafah’s Yabna refugee camp.
So far, the IDF has lost 327 troops during ground operations in Gaza and along its borders. More than 2,000 others have been wounded. Recent reports in Hebrew media also revealed that over 500 military vehicles have been damaged or destroyed in the Strip.
Meanwhile on the Palestinian side the death toll from the Israeli war has reached 39,090 according to the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza. More than 90,147 others have been wounded. Women and children make up the majority of the victims.
Despite taking some serious losses and destroying much of Gaza, Israel has so far failed to achieve any of the main goals of its war. Hamas continues to rule over the Strip, the group’s military capabilities are still effective and it continues to hold around a hundred Israeli hostages who were taken during the October 7 surprise attack.
