A grand funeral procession has commenced in the Iranian capital city Tehran for late President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation, who tragically died in a helicopter crash on May 19.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei performed prayers over the bodies of President Raisi and his entourage at the University of Tehran on May 22, before the funeral procession took place in the city.

Iranian government officials, military leaders, and members of the public community participated in the solemn procession. Leaders from other countries, as well as religious and resistance figures, have expressed their condolences over the tragedy.
More than 40 high-level foreign delegations, including around 10 heads of state and 20 ministerial-level representatives, were set to take part in the afternoon ceremony to honor the martyrdom of President Raisi and his companions.
The head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, has praised the efforts made by Raisi in addressing the Gaza crisis.

A day before to the Tehran ceremony, funeral services were held in the cities of Qom and Tabriz, where the bodies were transported before being moved to Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport.
After the funeral ceremony of Martyr Raisi, the resistance commanders held a joint meeting and discussed the latest developments in the region. They emphasized the continuation of jihad until the victory in Gaza.
Quds Force Commander General Qaani, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Geenral Salami, representatives of resistance groups including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Hezbollah, Ansar Allah and Iraqi resistance groups participated in this meeting.
