On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) captured Al-Dubaiyya and Wadi al-Sawt on the Syrian-Jordanian border, according to pro-government sources.
From its side, US-backed Jaysh Assoud al-Sharqia claimed that it repelled the SAA attack in the Damascus desert and that its fighters destroyed a SAA tank with a TOW missile.
Liwa Shuhada al-Qaryyatin issued an official statement arguing that it will continue to fight the SAA and its allies, like the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU).
Liwa Shuhada al-Qaryyatin confirmed in the statement that it did not receive any threats from the US-led coalition or any other parties, and denied that any of its groups have handed over its heavy weapons to the US-led coalition. Liwa Shuhada al-Qaryyatin allegedly have only light weapons.
Earlier the US-led coalition said that it suspended its support to Liwa Shuhada al-Qaryyatin. However, new photos from the desert of Damascus confirmed that Liwa Shuhada al-Qaryyatin is still operating in the area controlled by the US-led coalition.
This disagreement has shown once again that the US is unable to control Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups that it supports in Syria, even if it’s in the field by their side apparently.
