The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have been making efforts to defend the Tyas Airbase from ISIS terrorist group in the province of Homs.
Government forces have repelled a series of ISIS attacks on the airbase and secured the strategic Defense Hill north of it. This eased the military situation for the army and the NDF. Nonetheless, ISIS units are still in a position for attacks aimed to cut off the Homs-Palmyra highway and to encircle government forces deployed in the Tyas Airbase.
Meanwhile, ISIS are making reconnaissance raids near the city of al-Qaryatayn. There is a chance that if the terrorist group is not able to seize the Tyas Airbase, it will attack the city.
