Following the liberation of the strategic town of Taibat al-Imam from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, pro-government forces, led by the Tiger Forces, turned their attention to another important militant-held town in the northern Hama – Halfaya.

The government advance on Halfaya has started this morning when government troops attacked militants in the town from the souther direction. Government forces engaged militants in a firefight and attempted to enter Halfaya. Militants were able to repel the first government push but clashes continued in Halfaya outskirts.
The Syrian army’s artillery intensified the shelling of militant positions inside and around the town. Pro-government troops are preparing for another attempt to enter the town.
