On May 14, the Syrian National Defense Forces (NDF) repelled an attack by militants on the villages of al-Fu’ah and Kafriya in eastern Idlib, according to pro-government sources. The incident took place last night when alleged members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) stormed NDF positions in the Brouma farms area.
No confirmed reports about casualties of the sides are available online.
On May 11, the NDF repelled a previous attack on al-Fu’ah and Kafriya, but from the eastern direction. Then, the NDF lost at least one member during the clashes.
