Following the announcement of wide-scale operations in Aleppo, the Syrian army and Liwa al-Quds (Palestinian militia) have seized the al-Shaher region near the strategic Handarat Refugee Camp northwest of Aleppo city.
Pro-government sources report that the Syrian forces took control of a number of hill tops in the area and deployed at the eastern entrance of Handarat.
