The German government has decided to withdraw troops from Turkey’s Incirlik Airbase.
Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday that German troops stationed in the Turkish base would be moved to a military facility in Jordan over the coming months.
Earlier this week, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel failed to resolve differences between the two countries over the request of German lawmakers to visit their troops stationed in Incirlik. The Ankara government opposes to teh German lawmakers will to do this.
